Tears on My Pillow/Go Ahead and Cry

"Crying doesn't indicate you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you're alive."
This is so true. People are always so ashamed to cry, but you shouldn't be. It's natural. Did you know most people have an unlimited, constantly-replenishing source of tears. So basically it's impossible to run out of tears. Crying makes you feel better. I read in the latest edition of Women's Health that crying gets a bad rap, especially when the crier is a woman. Studies show that men are viewed sympathetically when they cry, while women are often labeled dramatic, irrational, or manipulative. Crying gives you clarity. Sometimes our vision only clears once washed with tears.
Crying has valuable mental and physical benefits. Tears banish stress hormones such as cortisol as well as other toxins that accumulate when we feels stressed. Crying is our natural, built-in healing system. While some people view crying as weak, it can also bring you closer to people. It's one of the thing that sets us apart from other species. It's what makes us human. It's what makes us real.
Facts about Crying
*30 to 64= Number of times a year the average woman cries. Men cry an average of six to 17 times annually.
*2 to 3 milliliters= Average amount of tears people produce every day.
*60= Percentage more of the hormone prolactin women have compared with men. Researchers believe it makes women more prone to crying.

FYI

So you all know I'm a Grey's An-addict (aka addicted to Grey's Anatomy). I love quotes from that show. I have a post that is all quotes from Grey's Anatomy, and I constantly update it with new quotes! If you like quotes from the show, be sure to always be checking the post again and again because I edit it a lot and am frequently adding more amazing quotes to it. :)

Hello Beautiful

"I've found that growing up can mean a lot of things. For me, it doesn't mean I should become somebody completely new and stop loving the things I used to. It means I've just added more things to my list."
-Taylor Swift

"Remember, we're madly in love, so it's alright to kiss me anytime you feel like it."
-Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games

"I don't like to lie, but sometimes telling the truth does more harm than good."
-Pretty Little Liars

"Every summer has a story."
-Nicholas Sparks, The Last Song

"Over the course of the average lifetime you meet a lot of people. Some of them stick with you through thick and thin. Some weave their way through your life and disappear forever. But once in a while, someone comes along who earns a permanent place in your heart."
-The Wonder Years

"I thought I knew this world. I thought I could control it. But just when you think you've got your life by the reins, that's when it's most likely to run away from you."
-Jodi Picoult, Perfect Match

"The most attractive quality of all is dignity."
-Sherry Argov

"A true friend doesn't care if your house is untidy, your car makes funny noises, if you only have $5.00 in your bank account this week, or that your family is not perfect. They love you for who you are. True friends can go long periods of time without speaking and never question their friendship."

"It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting."
-The Alchemist

"When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because that's what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day. It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No... don't blush. I am telling you some truths. For that is just being in love; which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over, when being in love has burned away."
-Captain Corelli's Mandolin

"You may not be the brightest crayon in the box but you're still my favorite color."

L-O-V-E

I send my prayers and love...

Dear Inspiration Nation,
As you have heard, there is much turmoil and chaos and death going on in the Middle East, Africa, and New Zealand (with the earthquake). I send my love and am praying for all of you. I can't even begin to imagine the suffering and pain you must be dealing with. But know you are not alone and people care about you. I sure do. We who live in the United States are so unbelievably blessed with the freedoms we have. I am thankful for these and all of my other many blessings. As Barack Obama said, "We may not be able to stop all of the evil in the world, but how we treat one another is entirely up to us." Always stand up for what you believe in. You are capable of so much.
With love,
Charley Brooke

Here's To Future Days

Positivity

I know that our society runs on sensationalism, bad news, tabloid gossip, sex, other people's misfortune, war, and tends to focus on negativity, but I refuse to do so. You will never see any such material on Inspiration Nation. I don't care if this blog doesn't get as many views as the bad stuff does, that's not why I'm doing this. It's not what inspires me. I believe you can be inspired by the bad stuff, and when I say that I mean that you can be inspired to change it and alleviate suffering it causes. However, I believe in positivity. I believe in finding happiness and holding on to it. I would like to hear more about the good stuff, because society and the media focus on the bad stuff so much that it makes the world look like a dark, terrible place, and don't get me wrong there are many tragedies in the world and you can't erase it all nor stop it, but I believe you can replace it, and I truly think there are many wonderful things and people left in the world, and I choose Inspiration and happiness :)

Don't Worry Be Happy

"Happiness is a form of courage," Holbrook Jackson said. I find this more and more true everyday. There is so much out there to bring you down. Life is full of bad things, hard times, stress, and people that make you want to just curl up in a ball and stay inside. That's the easy way to respond to the bad stuff. There will always be opposition in life. Happiness is something you choose. And sometimes, you have to fight for your happiness. You have to rise above everything trying to drag you down. Stay strong. Look for things that make you happy and focus on them. There may always be stress, sad times, chaos, but there is also love, good times, and light so find what you love and add that to your life as much as you can. Keep faith and hope and remember you are never alone. :)

Fridge Art & Heart Attack (Figuratively and Literally)

I wanted to make our apartment kitchen more home-y and exciting so I made a collage on our fridge of my three lovely roommates: Hannah, Rian and McHale, and myself! I put our pictures with our names and pictures of things we like. I also put other random pictures! Here is my fridge art :)

On Valentines Day, our neighbor and friend who lives in the apartment below us "heart attacked" our apartment door! It gave us a heart attack figuratively and nearly literally haha! And he left sooo much candy, flowers, a rose, a stuffed animal, and card. How thoughtful. The pictures speak for themselves.

My Life As Liz?

This is me.
This is Liz.
Liz is (as you probably know) from the MTV show My Life As Liz. My friends, family, and strangers think I look just like her, but I don't see the resemblance! I'm serious, they always insist I do, and I don't understand it! What do you think?

Sorry!

I missed yesterday and didn't post anything :( My apologizes. You know how busy life can be! School, work, family, being sick for a zillion days with a cold/flu that won't go away, etc can take all your time. I hope everyone has a wonderful day/week/month/year! I read in Oprah magazine an article about creativity. It said that everyone is creative and basically we all start out super creative, but then we start going to school and comparing ourselves to everyone around us and thinking we aren't good enough so we stop trying and it limits the creative process. So stop comparing. We are all different. Don't change for anyone. Creativity doesn't have to be about composing the next major hit song or painting or something huge, it can be little things every day that you do. Like this blog is an expression of me and my creativity. Being creative helps your well being and gives you a sense of accomplishment. As I've stated this blog isn't the best blog in the world, nor the most read, but it's mine and it's my way of inspiring others and expressing myself. Do something you love and think like a kid without boundaries or limitations. Imma share a few pictures with you today including some McDreamy. Enjoy :)

Be Your Own Valentine

Happy Valentines Day.
I love you all with all of my heart.
One of my bosses just gave me a piece of Dove dark chocolate and it said Be Your Own Valentine. I think it's fitting for all of us single people out there. It's always important to love yourself so treat yourself to something special even if it's just chocolate (it makes you feel better). Or better yet, send your love to friends and family. I know they would adore that. It doesn't have to be all about loving a significant other or boyfriend or girlfriend. It's about love. So love everyone :) and have a lovely day!
