I am sure everyone has now sadly become aware of the fact that there was an 8.9 earthquake in Japan. This picture and all the others leave me stunned. They literally take my breath away and leave me speechless. Not only has this affected Japan, there are tsunami warnings for Hawaii, California, Oregon, and Washington, and this earthquake has affected other countries as well. It should effect us all. This should remind us that it's truly a small world after all. We all may be different, have different cultures, beliefs, etc but we are all human and all living on this earth. We all have feelings and families. We all need to love one another and care for each other. Pray for Japan, pray for the world. Pray for peace, healing, love, and recovery. God is there and will listen. Prayer is powerful. Faith can move mountains.
I know all of this to be true. Many are probably wondering why do bad things happen to good people? Why does God let this happen? There must be an opposition to all things. Without the bad we wouldn't know the good, without suffering we wouldn't know happiness and bliss, we wouldn't know sweet without bitter, and so forth. But I promise you that our Savior will lift us up. He atoned for us. He suffered more than any of us combined, more than we can imagine. He knows what we are all going through. He will help us. Everything happens for a reason. And we don't know all the reasons for these bad things, we're not supposed to. Believing is seeing. One day, we will know the answers and reasons and know the pain we went through was worth it. Let this bring us together. Pray and do whatever you can to help Japan and all those in need. And remember how blessed we are. My heart, love, prayers, and thoughts go out to Japan.
With love,
Charley Brooke
