Drowning on Dry Land

"But once you throw a stone, there are ripples in the pond, even if you remove the rock."
-Jodi Picoult

"If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
-Mother Teresa

"Judgments prevent us from seeing the good that is beyond appearances."
-Wayne Dyer

"It is just as cowardly to judge an absent person as it is wicked to strike a defenseless one. Only the ignorant and narrow minded gossip, for they speak of persons instead of things."
-Lawrence Glovasik

"Doubt yourself and you doubt everything you see. Judge yourself and you see judges everywhere. But if you listen to the sound of your own voice, you can rise above doubt and judgment. And you can see forever."
-Nancy Lopez

"Are we looking through a window which needs cleaning? Are we making judgments when we don't have all the facts? Said the Savior, 'Judge not'. He continued, 'Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?' None of us is perfect. I know of no one who would profess to be so. And yet for some reason, despite our own imperfections, we have a tendency to point out those of others. We make judgments concerning their actions or inactions. There is really no way we can know the heart, the intentions, or the circumstances of someone who might say or do something we find reason to criticize. The Savior has admonished: 'This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you.' Life is perfect for none of us. Rather than being judgmental and critical of each other, may we have the pure love of Christ for our fellow travelers in this journey through life. May we recognize that each one is doing his or her best to deal with the challenges which come their way, and may we strive to do our best to help out."
-President Thomas S. Monson

"You will never reach higher ground if you are always pushing others down."
-Jeffrey Benjamin

"Stop bullying. No one deserves to feel worthless."

“They’re certainly entitled to think that, and they’re entitled to full respect for their opinions… but before I can live with other folks I’ve got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.”

-Atticus Finch, To Kill A Mockingbird

"Be who you are no matter what and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. You are the most beautiful thing in the world."
-Alex Gaskarth

"Depression is such a cruel punishment. There are no fevers, no rashes, no blood test to send people scurrying in concern. Just the slow erosion of the self, as insidious as any cancer. And, like cancer, it is essentially a solitary experience. A room in hell with only your name on the door."

"You don't always have to pretend to be strong. There's no need to prove all the time that everything is going well. You shouldn't be concerned about what other people are thinking. Cry if you need to. It's good to cry out all your tears... because only then will you be able to smile again."

"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view--until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it."
-To Kill A Mockingbird

People always say "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."
That's the furthest thing from the truth.
Bones and physical injuries can heal and go away. Words can stay with you and haunt you forever.
Bullying, people who judge you and criticize you, and mean ones (people who are rude) can make you feel like you are drowning on dry land.
We live in a world that is all about judging others on every issue and it's sad. It's not right. I wish everyone would be nice and love one another--that's my dreamer side. It's awful to see someone being bullied or verbally abused. I have experienced it myself. Words hurt.
You have to rise above. People are going to hate you, love you, love to hate you, and hate to love you. But the ones that mean the most will always be there. You are never alone.
Prayer is powerful. Faith can move mountains. To anyone has ever told you that you're not good, they're no better. It's tough to be put down and not let judgmental people bring you down, but I promise you can rise above and stay there. Be happy and life your life to the fullest doing, saying and being the true you. It's your life. Don't let a miserable, pathetic person who is judging you because they have no life of their own, ruin yours. Those who mind don't matter. Those who matter don't mind. Your family and friends will always love you and that's all that matters. Only Heavenly Father and our Savior will judge us. They are the only judges that count. So forget about the mean ones and their mean words. Spread positivity, be happy, and keep your head up high. You can't make someone like you, but you can be a person that is likable.
